Ernest Race DA2 Low Back Armchair

Ernest Race used a welded steel rod frame to create an elegant and organic form which was based on the shape of the classic wing chair but was in stark contrast to the heavy and bulky forms available in the late 1940s to produce a sinuous and visually lightweight design. The DA2 was produced from 1947 and has beech splayed legs and the original sprung seat cushion.
